About the Concours

The concours d’elegance is only one small part of the Amerivespa experience. The name is somewhat of a misnomer as the scooters are not judged using concours type standards with subtractions from a so-called perfect score.

The goal is not to give awards the most perfect bike, but celebrate the scooter in all its forms from barn-fresh original bikes to meticulous restorations to crazy customized bikes.

The scooters are judged by volunteer judges from the national scooter community.

Note: Due to insurance regulations, only rally registrants are allowed to participate in the Concours d'Elegance.

How to Enter

Only registered participants may enter their scooter(s) in the concours. You may enter more than one scooter.

You can download the concours entry form or fill out the form after you register.

The form should be filled out completely as possible with the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your entry number, this is the same as the number you receive at registration
  • Your club affiliation (if any)
  • Scooter Year/Make/Model
  • Important details about the scooter (is it untouched, what are the modifications, how far did you ride it, anything interesting you want people (including the judges) to know about your scooter.)
  • Category. There are many different categories. You can find the list of categories below. (more information about each category is found on page two of the concours entry form

You may enter your scooter into more than one category if you feel it fits best into more than one. (For example you can enter the Best Widebody category and Krylon King.)

Make sure your scooter is in the judging area with the entry form attached to it (preferably on the front legshield) during the judging period (1pm to 3pm – this time is subject to change, check your rally itinerary.) This is a good time to take a break and check out the vendors.

Additional awards are given for: Best in Show, Radical Custom, People’s Choice, Furthest Ridden and Furthest Traveled, Gymkhana winner, Slow Race winner. Club Member of the Year and Biggest Club Turnout.

Judging

Judges are volunteers from the scooter community who are passionate about scooters. If you are not entering a scooter and can volunteer to judge, please email Dave McCabe .

People’s Choice Award

The people’s choice award is selected by the registered rally participants. A people’s choice ballot will be in your rally bag.

People’s choice ballots need to be turned at the registration desk by 4pm.
